The road here

Role by role, with what shipped in each.

Oct 2026 – present

Founder & Principal Engineer

Software Cowboy Pty Ltd

Founded my own software company: practical software for businesses that run on real-world operations. Built on the rules I already work to. Simplicity over abstraction, and security as the foundation, with every claim backed by evidence.

Dec 2025 – present

DevOps Engineer

RenewCo Solar, Sydney, 70+ people

Own the Azure estate end to end—provisioned with Terraform and Bicep, shipped through GitHub Actions—and run identity and endpoint security as code: Entra ID, Intune, LAPS, Essential Eight. As the company's only developer, built the Job Adding System that runs the back office, 76 automations across 20 platforms, and RenewCompare, the energy-analysis tool the company runs in-house. Documented both for handover.

Now containerising the Job Adding System: a hardened, pinned image first, then its SQLite databases into one Postgres, written to both and compared nightly until a full week of jobs matches. The plan is on the blog. Shipped in October 2026: jobs and crews synced to a new field-service platform, fleet monitoring for about 1,700 installed systems that opens support cases by itself, and a backup of every Salesforce file.

Jul 2022 – Dec 2025

Administration Manager

RenewCo Solar

Ran the back office for a high-volume solar installer. Advanced Excel formulas and macros became the Job Adder workbook and Python scripts in July 2025, then a suite of scheduled tools running unattended; by the end of the year the role no longer needed a person, and the CTO moved me onto the IT team as DevOps Engineer.

Oct 2024 – Dec 2025

Reporter

Sydney community radio

Researched, wrote and voiced news bulletins—a sideline that keeps the writing sharp and the mic comfortable. Interviewed figures in the energy industry.

Mar 2021 – Apr 2022

Lead Generator—door-to-door solar

RenewCo Solar

Where it began: on doorsteps, working to daily targets. Starting cold conversations, handling objections and earning trust quickly. I learned the industry, understood the product, sold solar to customers—and proved myself to the business—from the ground up.
